溝ヶ谷の家

東京都世田谷区の住宅地に建つ戸建住宅の計画案である。 敷地はかつて溝ヶ谷支流と呼ばれた小川が流れていた谷に面する傾斜地にある。近年の宅地造成によってこの地域が本来持っていた谷に向かって緩やかに傾斜する自然豊かな谷戸の風景は 失われつつあった。新たな住宅を計画するにあたり、周囲の環境と無関係な造成によって街か ら切り離された住まいをつくるのではなく、敷地の高低差を取り込むことで、暮らしと街がつ ながる住まいをつくりたいと考えた。地域の地形を建築化するように、家の中と外に緩やかな 段差を設けることで、視界が開けた高台のリビングや、谷に面した落ち着いた雰囲気の縁側、双方を見渡す中腹のダイニングなど、高低差に彩られた街の魅力を凝縮したような、さまざまな場所が展開する住まいを提案した。

This is a plan for a house in a residential area of Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. The site is situated on a slope facing towards a valley that used to be a small stream called the tributary of Mizogaya. Recent residential land development has caused the changes in the landscape of the area; gently sloping hills along the small valley and its natural environment have been gradually lost over time. As we planned to build a new house in this area, we tried to create a living environment that blends with the surroundings by adopting height differences of the site in the design, instead of building a house totally detached from the community on an artificial land developed with no relationship to the surrounding environment. By providing height differences inside and outside the house as if translating the topography of the area into architecture, various spaces can be created such as an elevated living space with a view, a veranda facing a valley with calm and tranquil atmosphere, and a dining space in between. Our design proposes a house that architecturally embodies the fascinatingly undulating topography of the area.
